THE DIFFERENCE

Refacing by Boyar’s Kitchen Cabinets:

    • Benefit of 31 years cabinet refacing experience.

    • Unparalleled reputation for product quality, installation and customer service.
    • Cabinets will look brand new.
    • About half the cost of new high-quality cabinets.
    • Damage to existing cabinets can be repaired prior to refacing.
    • All materials are stained and finished at our factory, and brought to the client’s home dry so that there are no harmful fumes.
    • Floors, countertops and appliances can remain.
    • Kitchen and appliances are fully usable during the installation.
    • New solid wood or Thermofoil (MDF core) doors and drawer fronts.
    • New solid wood or Thermofoil (MDF) crown, base and scribe moldings.
    • New material (real-wood veneer or top-quality laminate) covers cabinet exteriors.
    • Optional new cabinets or reconfiguration of existing.
    • New Blum European concealed hinges.
    • Wide variety of exterior finishes and custom details are available.
    • Wide-variety of optional new accessories to increase cabinet functionality.
    • Optional new standard, doweled or dovetailed drawer boxes and pull-out shelves (with optional Accu-ride ball bearing slides).
    • Installation takes approximately 3-5 consecutive business days.
    • Lifetime warranty covers manufacturing and installation.

Painting and Refinishing:

  • Old wood grain, doors, drawer fronts, moldings and cabinet frame remain – only exterior colors change.

  • Damage to existing cabinets remains and often, cannot be repaired inconspicuously.
  • Fumes from painting and refinishing are toxic, and often residents must leave the home until the air has cleared.
  • Relatively expensive considering the benefits, sometimes more than half the cost of refacing.
  • Existing hinges remain (when possible, sometimes they are replaced).
  • Often doors are often veneer, and are made of low-quality wood, so painting and refinishing is not possible.
  • Some accessories are available.
  • Floors, countertops and appliances can remain.
  • Warranty varies by company.

Typical New Cabinet Remodel (Other Companies):

  • Entire kitchen is demolished.

  • Often, permits are needed and there are delays and issues related to California code.
  • All cabinets are replaced, often with lower-quality ones than currently exist.
  • Extensive electrical, plumbing and gas line work is often required.
  • Countertops (and often flooring) must be replaced.
  • All appliances must be removed and either replaced or reinstalled.
  • Average downtime of 4-12 weeks (depending on contractor and extent of remodel), during which kitchen is completely unusable.
